Greece is the Logos

Mindful of my travelling

no despair at journeys end
in and out of earthiness
lithospheric I contend

As my reason fights off magma
in sublime or silly ways
I do my best avoiding Bathos
on esoteric days

Confounded by my Pathos
in my grief I fade away
as the pastures I once grazed upon
change my ethos day by day

Worlds of words and meanings change
as past and present disagree
ancient texts confound discovery
As Logos now outdates all Greek to me
