Life has many possibilities
you must decide how much to care
Mindful that with give and take
One may not find it everywhere

Your walk will seek out other ways
Building families and friends
Scenes of promises invincible
to fade away or make amends

Expect the minimum from any gift
be not blinded by its light
Nor shackled by your pandered need
stealing silver dreams at night

Every option needs a measured view
Best considered pared or shared
Accept the truth of disappointment
as wisdom gained because you dared
